SUPERSHINE joins five other European projects at a workshop organised during Sustainable Places within the Network of Building Renovation Projects, a collaborative platform fostering knowledge exchange and joint action on sustainable renovation.
The session will highlight innovative and scalable approaches to construction and renovation, addressing key challenges such as circularity, digitalisation, social inclusion, resilience, and policy alignment. Designed to be interactive, the workshop will invite participants to engage in dialogue with project representatives, explore synergies, and contribute to joint strategies for greater impact across Europe.
Representing SUPERSHINE, Dr. Paola Zerilli (University of York) will present the project’s approach to financing deep renovation in social housing districts. Her presentation will focus on the use of time-varying Social Discount Rates (SDR) in structuring Public-Private Partnership (PPP) contracts, enabling equitable risk-sharing between ESCOs, public authorities and housing associations while ensuring bankability, emissions reduction and affordability.
By showcasing diverse perspectives from across Europe, the workshop aims to inspire inclusive, resilient and financially viable renovation pathways.
