Sustainable Places 2025 invites contributions from across industry, policy, research, media, and all sectors involved in sustainability. The call for proposals is open, welcoming innovative submissions that support the green transition and address the pressing challenges of today’s urban and regional environments.
The 2025 edition will explore key themes shaping the future of cities and the built environment, including:

Sustainable construction & renovation
Climate change mitigation & adaptation
Facilitating the energy transition: policy, finance, training
Sustainable urban renewal & cultural transformation
Renewable energy technologies
Decarbonisation & circularity
Resilience & energy security
Data centres, digital twins & artificial intelligence for sustainability
This list is not exhaustive. Proposals on additional topics related to building sustainability are welcome and encouraged.
Taking place in December 2025, Sustainable Places will return as a hybrid event, offering both physical participation in Milan and virtual access for broader international engagement. The conference promises to be a unique opportunity to engage with the ideas, people, and solutions that will shape the sustainable transition of Europe’s built environment.
