SUPERSHINE has officially reached its final milestone.
Over the past years, we have worked to accelerate the sustainable renovation of social housing across Europe combining technical solutions, financial innovation, and citizen-centred approaches to address energy poverty and support the transition to climate-neutral cities.
Throughout the project, we developed and tested an integrated model that brings together building performance optimisation, Public–Private Partnership (PPP) schemes, and district-level planning strategies. These solutions were validated in our Lighthouse Cities Trieste, Riga, and Herning demonstrating how deep energy renovation can reduce consumption, improve living conditions, and remain economically viable.
A strong focus was placed on stakeholder engagement, ensuring that residents, local authorities, and practitioners were actively involved in shaping renovation strategies. This participatory approach has been key to strengthening social acceptance and ensuring long-term impact.
