We are pleased to present the final video of SUPERSHINE – Transforming Social Housing for Sustainable, Inclusive Cities, showcasing the project’s journey and achievements in advancing the renovation of social housing districts across Europe.

Funded by the European Union, SUPERSHINE has supported households in reducing energy bills, tackling energy poverty, and accelerating the transition towards climate-neutral living. Through innovative financial schemes, smart neighbourhood models, and strong community engagement, the project has demonstrated how integrated solutions can deliver long-term environmental, social, and economic impact.

The video features insights from key project representatives, including the project coordinator, Riccardo Coletta, who reflects on SUPERSHINE’s mission to address energy poverty through technical interventions, community involvement, and financially sustainable solutions. Their perspective highlights how sustainability, for SUPERSHINE, goes beyond environmental impact to include long-term financial viability and social inclusion.

The three districts — Trieste (Italy), Herning (Denmark), and Riga (Latvia) — showcase integrated solutions including energy-efficient buildings, smart energy systems, low-carbon mobility, and improved water and waste management, all designed to enhance residents’ quality of life.

The final video captures the voices behind the project and presents SUPERSHINE’s lasting legacy: validated renovation pathways, practical guidelines, innovative business models, and one-stop-shop services designed to make social housing renovation inclusive, affordable, and replicable.

Watch the video and discover how SUPERSHINE is contributing to more sustainable, resilient, and climate-neutral urban communities across Europe.
