As part of the European Week of Regions and Cities – Close to You events, we are excited to invite you to an interactive workshop focused on inclusive and sustainable urban regeneration. This event is co-organized by the three European sister projects: drOp, ProLight, and SUPERSHINE.
In this session, three cities will take the stage to share their experiences with smart and sustainable urban transformation. Expect storytelling and interactive surveys as we explore key challenges and successes encountered in 16 cities across 11 countries, including 10 pilot cities.
Our discussion will center around environmental, social, and economic sustainability, with particular attention given to overcoming a common challenge: resident participation. The projects aim to address this by involving local communities in the co-creation and co-design of the renewal process.
The projects go beyond renovation, aiming to foster new business models and services that empower local actors and improve residents’ quality of life. By addressing fuel poverty through energy-efficient renovations, we aim to support households struggling with energy costs, ultimately creating replicable smart district models that prioritize energy efficiency, affordability, and sustainability.
Our vision is to develop beautiful, inclusive, and sustainable living environments that facilitate dialogue between cultures and generations, where art, creativity, and natural regeneration play a key role.
