Super-i: Accelerating energy efficient renovation of social housing in Belgium

The two events are organized as part of the SUPER-i and they are geared towards increasing investments in energy-efficient upgrades for social housing throughout Europe while also promoting the use of renewable energy.
The events aim to achieve this by bringing together various stakeholders, gathering valuable data on energy-efficient projects, and devising effective financial strategies to support these initiatives.

Roundtable 1 (in French): How to reach ambitious regional climate objectives
This roundtable will reflect on obstacles and opportunities to scaling up and accelerating energy efficient renovation in Belgium, bringing together public authorities and public agencies at regional level and financing institutions, as well as social housing companies and relevant stakeholders.

11:00 – 11:40 | Panel debate with representatives of the three regional agencies SLRB, SWL and Wonen in Vlaanderen around 3 questions:
- What are the medium ad long term objectives in terms of renovation for the sector?
- How is renovation financed and what challenges do you foresee?
- Which initiatives are you focusing on to support local housing companies?

Roundtable 2 (in English): Learning from experiences on the ground
Which approaches and models combine best maximum saving for the tenant, financial viability of the social housing companies, and climate goals? We will exchange ideas based on concrete projects – identifying key issues that have to be handled to be able to implement on a large-scale energy saving solutions in social housing in the Belgian context.
